Look ma, no hands!

There is one thing that I depend on every single morning, my handy dandy routine. I thrive on it. You would think that I was a small child by the way I depend it in order to get out of the house, into the car, drop Andrew off at school, give him two kisses, run down the hall while silmutaneously waving, saying 'Iloveyoubegoodlistentoyourteacher andpleasegetasmiley facetoday' and dodging other small children.

The day that my son decided that he would dress himself, ruined my routine. I was very nervous the day he said "I can put my uniform on by myself in my room." I didn't know what to expect. In accordance with the routine, I dress him because I do it faster and we have to go. I couldn't stifle his independence because of a routine, so I granted his request. I think the kid did pretty good. Now if we can only get this shirt situation under control, I think it will be safe to say that he's not only helped the routine, he's simplified it!

Carter has just started wanting to put his shirt on himself and pull up his pants. It drives me crazy because he will run around with his arms out of his shirt and his pants around his ankles, but won't let you help him. I try to encourage his independence, but some things I can do much quicker.
