Andrew went to the doctor a few weeks ago and the doctor ordered a food panel so that we could find out if he was still allergic to peanuts. He went back today for a follow up and a physical and we found out that not only is he still allergic to peanuts, he's now allergic to eggs. He can't have eggs or any food cooked with eggs. This is all brand new to me! He's never been a lover of eggs but having to cut out egg products is going to be a challenge. The poor kid can't even have cake! Cake for goodness sake. CAKE! What are we going to do? Does this mean that I can't have cake? Oh the horror! Well I'm off to educate myself on the do's and don'ts of egg allergies. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

CAKE???!!! No, no, no, no, no. He's a kid - that's a food group to him!
What might the reaction to a piece of cake be? Like a mild rash or rush to the ER? This is very upsetting!
My thoughts are with you Andrew!

Oh no Bev, that sucks!
Luckily there are tons of resources and foods available out there, since allergies are more common than ever. Do you guys have a Whole Foods grocery store near you? They are really great when you're looking for something specifically "egg free", "gluten free", "dairy free" etc. etc... I know they have a vegan "egg substitute" (kinda looks like Egg Beaters, but it has no egg in it, and it is actually pretty good!
And in cake, you can usually substitute a little oil and a little applesauce and it works just fine.
I hope Andrew is doing great and is cute as ever! This is just a bump in the road, you'll be fine with a little google-ing and a little smart grocery shopping... hang in there!
