I guess I have no choice but to accept the facts now. My son is an official big boy. He's been upgraded to a booster seat. He's using the seat belt in the car now and can snap himself in and out. For a moment I longed for the infant carrier with the five point harness. But then reality set in and that would mean that I had to tote bottles, diapers, wipes, bibs etc. So I'll deal with the reality of my son sitting in a big boy seat.
