It pays to be a club member! We went to Toys R Us to use one of Andrew's gift cards. Since he's a member of Geoffrey's Birthday Club, they gave him a balloon, a crown and announced over the store intercom that it was his birthday and if you saw him in the store to wish him a happy birthday. The kid seriously got a kick out of this.
So as we cruised the aisles looking for something worthy of this first, and last, trip of the year to Toys R Us, I realized "it" was happening. Andrew
is very methodical when it comes to purchasing goods. He takes his time and weighs his options, taps his top lip with his index finger and mumbles to himself about what is in front of him. I've seen this in the book store and the movie section at Target. But I must have forgotten this when we went to the one place that would probably have me in a corner sucking my thumb and calling for my mother when I was done.

After almost an hour of walking the store without any definite choices, I'd had enough. I picked out a game to go with the hand held Leapster he got for his birthday, then we went off in search of old faithful. Animals. We found the animal section and all of the thinking, tapping, mumbling and option weighing started all over again. I finally threw a couple of animals at him and we left.
I think I'll get the balloon, crown and announcement for myself next year and just present Andrew with the loot that I bought in his honor with the $3 Geoffrey card they send in the mail.

I'm going for my next birthday if I get a crown, a balloon, AND my name anounced... is there an age limit?
I hope not! I'll have to read the fine print.
I love this kid!
