It's hard to see subtle changes in your kids when you are around them day to day. It's not as easy to spot the baby fat fading, or having the coordination to throw the ball in the air and swing the bat to hit it. It usually hits you one day and you try to remember, when did that happen?
I had one of those when did that happen moments this morning. Andrew has been telling me for the longest time that he's growing. A few months ago I measured him in Target and he was 38" tall. Last week at the allergist, he measured at 42" tall. I knew he'd been having growth spurts in the height department but this morning I saw the difference with my own eyes. I sent Andrew to the bathroom to get ready to brush his teeth. When I walked in he said, "I told you I could reach it by myself". He was talking about the light switch. A month ago he was still standing on his tiptoes struggling to turn on the light. Today, he stood flat foot and turned on the light by himself. Whend did that happen? When did those little chicken legs grow to the point that he could stretch his arms up and reach the light switch? It must have happened over night because he definitely couldn't do that on Monday!

He's a tall handsome dude! I have those moments sometimes too. Unfortunately one of my "when did that happen" moments happened this morning when I told Ryan off and he replied with "shut-up stupid woman". Um... WHERE did my sweet little boy go? I hate putting him in time out all day long - but he has to learn!
Aw. It's so wonderful and so sad at the same time.

It is hard seeing those moments. You just want them to be small forever. He is such a handsome boy Bev.
